Have you ever walked out of a meeting with a page full of notes and no idea what went on? What about trying to present an idea with words and seeing the glazed look of colleagues who aren’t taking it in?
We live in an intensely visual culture, and sometimes words just don’t cut it. Visual note taking, also known as sketchnoting, is a way of taking notes that are more memorable and interesting, while distilling ideas and providing an easier way to navigate through your tangle of thoughts. These notes are a powerful way to get your ideas across to other people.
In the workshop, we’ll start with the science behind visual mnemonics and the basics of sketching, then build up to how to communicate your ideas effectively through sketching. You’ll learn to listen and sketch at the same time, through theory, practical exercises, live sketching and group critiques.
